About the role (from employer)

At Anchorage Digital, we are building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto.

Anchorage Digital is a crypto platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets through custody, staking, trading, governance, settlement, and the industry's leading security infrastructure. Home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., Anchorage Digital also serves institutions through Anchorage Digital Singapore, Porto by Anchorage Digital, and other offerings.

The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, California, Anchorage Digital has offices in New York, New York; Porto, Portugal; Singapore; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Learn more at anchorage.com, on X @Anchorage, and on LinkedIn.

With the evolving landscape of digital threats and an increasing volume of sophisticated attacks by malicious actors, we have a security policy mandating all new hires complete an in-person onboarding process - no exceptions. Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our Regulated Trading & Derivatives accounting team. Working directly with the Global Accounting Lead (CFO), you will help run the books, close, and regulatory reporting for our Swap-dealer and Broker-dealer entities.

This is a builder role. Many of the processes, reconciliations, and controls you will use do not exist yet, and you will help design them. You will work at the intersection of digital asset trading and traditional market regulation (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA), learning how regulatory capital and financial reporting work from the inside. If you like getting into the detail, finding what is broken, and fixing it, this role is for you.

Accounting & Close

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis for the Broker-dealer and Swap-dealer entities as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Account for trading activity, derivatives, margin, collateral, and digital asset positions, and reconcile them to clearing, custody, and counterparty statements.
  • Investigate and resolve breaks and open items quickly, and document the root cause so they do not repeat.
  • Support internal and external auditors with schedules, samples, and walkthroughs.

Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare the supporting schedules and workpapers behind SEC FOCUS reports, CFTC/NFA swap dealer financial reports (CFTC Regulation 23.105), and daily or monthly net capital computations.
  • Help monitor compliance with SEC Rule 15c3-1 (Net Capital) and SEC Rule 15c3-3 (Customer Protection) for the Broker-dealer, and with CFTC Regulation 23.101 (minimum capital) and 23.104 (equity withdrawal restrictions) for the Swap-dealer, and flag early-warning issues promptly.
  • Support the accounting and reconciliation of all derivatives trading activity for uncleared swaps, including initial and variation margin and collateral under the CFTC uncleared margin rules (CFTC Regulations 23.150–23.161).
  • Maintain the weekly regulatory capital model and prepare related internal updates.
  • Support regulatory audits and examinations (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA): pull and tie out schedules, respond to document requests, and help track remediation items.

Build & Improve

  • Help set up the books, chart of accounts, reconciliations, close checklists, and reporting packages for the Swap-dealer and Broker-dealer entities, and contribute to planning if a futures commission merchant (FCM) is added later.
  • Document processes and help design and test internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) suited to digital asset trading and derivatives.
  • Look for ways to automate manual work in spreadsheets and the ledgering system, and work with Treasury, Trading Operations, Engineering, and Product to get data flowing cleanly.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Trading to understand the accounting and regulatory effect of new products and trading strategies.
  • Take on special and ad-hoc projects as the team grows.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in the finance team of a broker-dealer, swap dealer, FCM, bank, trading firm, or crypto company.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license or active progress toward one is strongly preferred.
  • Technical accounting: Solid command of US GAAP, including ASC 815 (Derivatives and Hedging) and accounting for trading securities, margin, collateral, and revenue recognition.
  • Trading and derivatives understanding: Exposure to derivatives such as futures, options, and uncleared swaps. You do not need to have run these books yourself, but you should understand how the trades flow into the ledger.
  • Regulatory awareness: Working familiarity with broker-dealer financial reporting (FOCUS, net capital, customer protection) and CFTC/NFA swap dealer requirements (capital, financial reporting, uncleared margin) is a strong plus. We will train you on the rest and support you in earning Series 27 and NFA Series 3 licenses over time.
  • Tools: Advanced Excel skills and comfort with a modern ledger or ERP (such as NetSuite) and close management tools (such as FloQast). Comfort with SQL, Python, or automation tools is a plus.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented: You tie out numbers, spot what looks wrong, and follow it through to a fix.
  • Builder mindset: You are at ease setting up processes, templates, and controls from a blank page, and you do not wait for a playbook.
  • Can-do attitude: You take ownership, ask good questions, move quickly when deadlines are tight, and stay calm under pressure.
  • Communication: You can explain accounting and regulatory capital topics clearly to non-finance partners in Trading, Product, and Engineering.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if

  • Experience helping stand up or scale a finance function at a broker-dealer or swap dealer.
  • FCM accounting and reporting experience (CFTC Regulation 1.17, Form 1-FR-FCM, customer segregation), useful if an FCM is launched later.
  • Accounting or financial reporting experience with digital assets or crypto derivatives.
  • Familiarity with institutional trading systems, clearing platforms, and modern ledgering software.
  • Interest in the changing regulatory landscape for stablecoins, tokenized assets, and decentralized finance.
  • Prior Series 27 or NFA Series 3 exam progress.

Anchorage Digital partners with Securitize to bring federally issued stablecoins to tokenized assets

Securitize has entered a strategic partnership with Anchorage Digital Bank to enable direct minting and redemption of stablecoins for institutional investors. By leveraging Anchorage’s status as a federally chartered crypto bank, Securitize can now bypass third-party intermediaries for stablecoin settlement, streamlining the operational flow for tokenized assets. This integration is significant as it bridges the gap between stablecoin liquidity and tokenized traditional financial products, such as BlackRock’s BUIDL fund. Securitize currently manages over $4 billion in tokenized assets, working with major firms including Apollo, BNY, and KKR. The ecosystem already supports stablecoins like USDtb, which holds approximately 99% of its $530 million reserves in the BUIDL fund. This development enhances the settlement infrastructure for institutional-grade tokenization, allowing firms to manage digital dollars and investment products within a unified, regulated banking environment. The move reflects a broader industry trend of integrating blockchain-based settlement directly into the workflows of traditional financial institutions.

Hong Kong Regulators Advance Stablecoin and Tokenized Gold Plans

The provided text contains fragmented reports regarding various digital asset developments, including institutional custody and stablecoin trading infrastructure. Anchorage Digital has integrated the Frgmnt protocol to facilitate the custody, minting, and staking of fUSD and sfUSD for institutional clients. Simultaneously, Uniswap Labs reported processing $43.4 billion in stablecoin swaps during the second quarter of 2026, supported by the launch of the StablePair Hook on Ethereum. The protocol HyENA reached a cumulative volume of $4 billion, while Antalpha’s facilitated loan book experienced a decline in total value locked to $1.353 billion. Legislative discussions regarding the CLARITY Act remain ongoing, with concerns raised about the potential impact of rushing stablecoin-related regulatory frameworks. These developments highlight the ongoing institutionalization of stablecoin infrastructure and the evolving landscape of digital asset lending. The integration of specialized hooks and custody solutions underscores a broader trend toward enhancing capital efficiency and operational security within decentralized finance markets.

Anchorage expands institutional custody to Etherlink, tokenized uranium

Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, has expanded its institutional custody services to include assets on the Etherlink network. This integration covers seven specific assets, most notably xU3O8, a tokenized representation of physical uranium. By leveraging the Tezos-based layer-2 network, Anchorage enables institutional clients to gain exposure to uranium without the logistical burdens of physical storage or traditional commodity intermediaries. The move highlights a growing institutional appetite for tokenized commodities, which can now be settled in minutes rather than the weeks typically required by legacy systems. With a market capitalization exceeding $9 million, xU3O8 represents a niche but significant shift toward on-chain commodity management. This development follows a similar integration by Hex Trust in August 2025, signaling increased infrastructure support for tokenized real-world assets. Ultimately, the partnership bridges the gap between regulated banking custody and the efficiency of blockchain-based commodity trading.
