About the role (from employer)

About the company

Hi, we're Ondo Finance. Our mission is to provide institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds. We were the first company to tokenize exposure to US Treasuries, and have since expanded into several other assets. We are also focused on incubating protocols that can support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional crypto.

Founded by folks from Goldman Sachs Digital Assets Team, we’re backed by some of the best investors in the world including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, Tiger Global, and more. We are currently the leaders in the space in terms of AUM and are well capitalized to continue growing the firm. We're fully remote, with team members across the U.S.

About the Role

We're looking for a Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen our monitoring and investigations program across both fiat and on-chain activity. You'll own transaction monitoring, secondary market and trade surveillance, investigations, and regulatory reporting, and you'll be a key partner to Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations as we scale.

This role suits a hands-on investigator who's equally comfortable tracing funds through a blockchain explorer, analyzing trading patterns for manipulation, and writing a SAR narrative that holds up to regulatory scrutiny.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day transaction monitoring program for fiat and digital asset flows, including alert review, escalation, and disposition.
  • Design, tune, and document monitoring rules and scenarios based on the firm's risk assessment, typologies, and emerging threats.
  • Use blockchain analytics tools to assess wallet exposure, counterparty risk, and illicit-finance indicators such as sanctions, mixers, darknet markets, scams, and ransomware.
  • Track alert volumes, false-positive rates, and SLAs, and drive improvements in efficiency and coverage.
  • Build and run surveillance for trading activity on primary and secondary markets, including on-chain transfers, DEX/CEX activity, and OTC flows.
  • Detect and investigate potential market abuse, including wash trading, spoofing, layering, front-running, pump-and-dump schemes, and insider trading.
  • Work with Engineering and Data teams on surveillance tooling, data pipelines, and alert logic.
  • Maintain reporting procedures, quality control checks, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support regulatory exams, independent audits, and responses to regulator inquiries.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in financial crimes compliance, with significant hands-on work in investigations, AML/BSA, and transaction monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis (Reactor, KYT), TRM Labs, or Elliptic, and the ability to trace funds independently on-chain.
  • Strong working knowledge of the BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN guidance, and OFAC sanctions requirements.
  • A track record of writing high-quality SAR narratives and investigation reports.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and spot anomalous patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with trade surveillance or market abuse detection at a broker-dealer, exchange, ATS, or digital asset trading venue.
  • Familiarity with securities regulations (SEC, FINRA) and how they apply to tokenized assets or digital securities.
  • Experience building or scaling a monitoring program at a high-growth fintech or crypto company.
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts.
  • Certifications such as CAMS, CCAS, CFE, or CCI.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation including but not limited to salary, future token rights, and/or equity (according to your preferences) — We are well-funded and believe that great talent deserves great compensation.
  • Full benefits (medical, vision, and dental) and flexible vacation policy (PTO).
  • Remote-first team across many countries — You will be an early team member helping shape our vision, culture, and design practices.
  • A+ colleagues — Our team includes alumni from: Goldman Sachs, Blackrock, Two Sigma, Bridgewater, SpaceX, AWS, Meta, Google, McKinsey, Circle, Uniswap.
  • Best-in-class investors — We are proud to be backed by leading crypto experts and VCs, including Pantera Capital, Founders Fund and Coinbase Ventures.

Tokenized Stock Trading After Hours: Key Insights on Pricing and Liquidity

Tokenized stock trading enables 24/7 market access, yet investors must distinguish between historical closing prices and real-time executable quotes on secondary markets. As of October 25, 2026, platforms like xStocks maintain continuous trading while restricting issuance and redemption to business hours, creating potential liquidity gaps. The article highlights that token prices are determined by order-book bid-ask spreads rather than the last recorded trade on conventional exchanges. Larger orders often experience significant slippage, as seen in hypothetical scenarios where buying and selling tokens results in immediate losses despite no change in the underlying share price. While firms like Ondo have introduced weekend minting and redemption for specific assets, arbitrage remains constrained by the availability of issuer channels and sufficient market capacity. Platforms such as OKX-ICE have cautioned that pool prices can diverge from underlying assets during low-liquidity periods. Understanding these mechanics is critical for market participants to avoid misinterpreting historical price data as guaranteed execution levels.

Tokenized stocks: who lets retail investors in

Tokenized stocks: who lets retail investors in

Tokenized stocks offer retail investors exposure to equity price performance via blockchain-based tokens, yet regulatory frameworks create significant disparities in accessibility and investor protection. Providers like Ondo Finance and xStocks demonstrate how legal jurisdictions, such as the British Virgin Islands or Jersey, dictate whether retail investors can participate based on wealth thresholds or mandatory questionnaires. These tokens function as financial instruments under MiFID II rather than MiCA, meaning issuers must navigate complex securities laws that often lead to the exclusion of retail clients in the European Union. Investors must recognize that these tokens do not confer actual share ownership, voting rights, or direct dividend payments, as dividends are typically reinvested automatically. Furthermore, holders face dual risks: the underlying asset's price volatility and the potential failure of the issuer or custodian, with no protection from German deposit insurance. Tax implications remain the responsibility of the investor, and performance often deviates from the underlying stock due to built-in fees. Understanding these structural nuances is essential for market participants, as the ease of decentralized trading often masks the underlying legal and custodial complexities.

Crypto News Today: Tokenized Stock Expansion Puts ONDO, TAO and $33M Remittix in the Utility Debate

The current landscape of tokenized assets is shifting from experimental offshore models toward regulated financial infrastructure, as highlighted by the growth of platforms like Ondo and the emergence of new PayFi solutions. Ondo continues to lead by converting traditional financial assets, such as U.S. Treasuries and stocks, into blockchain-based products to improve settlement speeds and accessibility. Simultaneously, the market is seeing the rise of projects like Remittix, which aims to bridge crypto and traditional banking through PayFi services for international remittances. Remittix has reportedly raised $33 million from over 40,000 participants ahead of its planned November 24 public debut. The project intends to integrate perpetual futures trading and yield-generating products, with plans to burn 20% of its RTX token supply to influence scarcity. These developments reflect a broader trend where investors increasingly prioritize projects that demonstrate measurable output, fee generation, and tangible utility over speculative narratives. As these platforms expand across various blockchain networks, the competition to provide efficient, bank-connected financial services is intensifying. This evolution underscores the growing demand for assets that retain recognizable economic value while leveraging the efficiency of distributed ledger technology.
