Role Summary

Senior in-house counsel serving as the primary legal advisor for the launch of traditional finance (TradFi) and asset & fund management and derivative products. The role provides regulatory risk advisory and product structuring support for the launch of new financial products spanning crypto, securities, asset management, derivatives, AI, and payments, as well as lead in the drafting and negotiation of all associated agreements and product-facing terms and conditions across the relevant entities within the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on product and payment flow structuring, including card-issuing "fronting" structures with banking and payment-processing partners in emerging markets, central bank regulatory sandbox arrangements, and compliance review of third-party payment service providers.
  • Assess yield-generating savings products against securities-law fund characteristics, advise on regulatory scrutiny in relevant jurisdictions, and coordinate compliance review against comparable pooled-asset product precedents.
  • Advise on asset management and fund licensing implications of products that pool user assets.
  • Prepare jurisdiction restriction matrices for tokenized/fractional equities and equity-linked product lines.
  • Serve as primary lead counsel to internal business, product and AML teams
  • Scope entity placement for TradFi products across group entities, and assess license uplift requirements.
  • Assess license feasibility for group entities and identify the steps required to remain exempt from crypto licensing where applicable.
  • Draft and launch product terms for new services, including AI-driven product initiatives including revising all existing terms in line with industry standards

Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer (JD/LLB or equivalent) with 12+ years' experience, including significant in-house experience at a financial services, fintech, brokerage, or crypto/digital-asset firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in securities law, brokerage/clearing structures, asset and fund management regulation, and cross-border payments licensing.
  • Experience negotiating institutional brokerage, clearing, and outsourcing agreements.
  • Familiarity with virtual asset/crypto regulatory frameworks and multi-jurisdictional licensing analysis.
  • Strong drafting skills for consumer-facing product terms and conditions at scale, across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.

Profile

  • Commercially minded and comfortable with detailed product and structuring discussions.
  • Strong legal drafter who can translate commercial concepts into workable structures.
  • Practical problem solver who proposes solutions rather than only identifying risks.
  • Credible when advising and challenging senior Product and Business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable taking ownership from initial concept through negotiation, launch and ongoing operation.

Next Shiba Inu Search Heats Up as Franklin Templeton Puts $686M On-Chain and Pepeto Goes Live

Franklin Templeton has expanded its institutional crypto integration by enabling $686 million in tokenized money market fund shares to be used as trading collateral on the Bybit exchange. This initiative, launched on September 28, allows investors to pledge tokenized fund shares via ByCustody while continuing to earn yield on their underlying assets. By integrating these shares into major exchanges like Bybit, Binance, and OKX, the $1.83 trillion asset manager is bridging traditional finance with digital asset liquidity. This development signifies a shift where institutional capital seeks to maintain core holdings while gaining exposure to crypto markets without liquidating positions. While the article contrasts this institutional progress with speculative retail tokens, the core event highlights the growing utility of tokenized U.S. Treasury-backed funds in decentralized finance. The ability to use regulated, yield-bearing assets as collateral on centralized exchanges marks a maturing phase for the RWA sector. This trend underscores how traditional financial giants are increasingly treating blockchain rails as standard infrastructure for capital efficiency.

Crypto-friendly institution Franklin Templeton brings its tokenized collateral service to Bybit

Franklin Templeton has expanded its off-exchange collateral program to the Bybit exchange, enabling users to utilize shares of its tokenized money market fund as collateral for crypto trading. This integration allows investors to borrow stablecoins like USDT and USDC while continuing to earn yield on their underlying assets, which currently represent approximately $686 million in net assets. The mechanism relies on ByCustody to hold the assets off-exchange, while the value is mirrored within the Bybit trading environment to unlock liquidity without requiring asset movement. This development marks another milestone in Franklin Templeton's strategy to integrate its Benji-issued tokenized funds across major crypto exchanges, following similar partnerships with Binance and OKX. By allowing investors to optimize collateral usage while maintaining yield exposure, the firm aims to bridge traditional asset management with the crypto ecosystem. This trend reflects a broader industry shift toward using regulated, tokenized money market funds as high-quality collateral for derivatives and spot trading. The initiative highlights the growing utility of blockchain-integrated record-keeping platforms in professionalizing crypto market infrastructure.

Bybit Introduces Yield-Bearing Gold Product Offering APR on Tokenized Gold

Bybit has launched XAUT Earn, a new financial product that allows users to generate yield on Tether Gold (XAUT), a digital asset backed by physical gold. This offering addresses a significant gap in the market, as traditional gold holdings, ETFs, and other tokenized gold products like PAXG typically do not provide interest. Bybit provides both flexible staking and fixed-term savings options to enable income generation alongside price exposure. This development is notable because it shifts gold from a purely passive safe-haven asset into an active, yield-bearing instrument within the digital asset ecosystem. By integrating yield into gold holdings, Bybit aims to attract both traditional investors seeking utility and crypto users looking for diversification beyond stablecoin-based returns. The launch reflects a broader trend of bridging traditional finance with decentralized finance through asset-backed yield solutions. Bybit, currently the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, intends for this product to expand the utility of real-world assets for its global user base of over 80 million people.
