Nebius Stock: A Tokenized-Trading Fight, a Trimmed Citi Target, and the Delivery Clock That Actually - ad-hoc

Nebius, an Amsterdam-listed AI infrastructure firm, has formally joined a coalition of 62 companies opposing a proposed tokenized trading initiative for their shares on the OKX-ICE platform. The initiative, unveiled on October 5, seeks to utilize a five-year SEC 'Innovation Exemption' to facilitate equity trading via automated market makers and liquidity pools. Nebius and other firms, including Boeing and ServiceNow, are challenging the underlying trading architecture and the regulatory carve-out that permits such settlement mechanisms. This dispute highlights a growing friction between traditional corporate issuers and emerging blockchain-based trading venues attempting to bypass conventional settlement systems. While the tokenization controversy captures headlines, Nebius is simultaneously navigating a valuation reset following a Citigroup price target reduction from $324 to $265. Furthermore, the company faces operational scrutiny regarding potential delivery delays on data-center projects tied to Microsoft contracts. These developments underscore the complex intersection of AI infrastructure financing, equity valuation, and the evolving regulatory landscape for tokenized securities.

Apple, Home Depot and GE Vernova Object to ICE-OKX Tokenized Stock Venue as Count Hits 59

Apple, The Home Depot, and GE Vernova have formally objected to the listing of tokenized versions of their shares on the OKXICE TSV, an on-chain stock venue operated as a joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and OKX. These additions bring the total number of objecting issuers to 59, reflecting a growing trend of major corporations resisting the unauthorized tokenization of their equity. The venue, which operates under an SEC exemption for tokenized securities, allows for both issuer-led and third-party tokenization, but issuer objections effectively block third-party tokens from being traded on the platform. Despite the venue's plans to utilize permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on the XLayer blockchain, the project faces significant skepticism from industry experts regarding its value proposition. The platform has not set a launch date and remains unregistered with the SEC, raising questions about its long-term viability and regulatory standing. This ongoing friction highlights the tension between traditional equity issuers and the emerging RWA sector regarding control over digital representations of corporate assets. The lack of clear communication from the venue regarding the purpose of these tokens further complicates the adoption landscape for on-chain stock trading.

OKX Launches ‘Simple Options’ Based on Tokenized Stocks, With 24/7 Trading

Global cryptocurrency exchange OKX has launched a new "Simple Options" service, enabling users to trade options based on tokenized stocks. Introduced on November 4, the service initially supports four prominent tokenized equities: Google, Nvidia, SpaceX, and Micron Technology. This offering allows for both buying and selling of call and put options, providing a more sophisticated financial instrument for real-world assets. The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring continuous market access. OKX has implemented an all-in pricing model, meaning no separate trading fees are charged, and the minimum trade size is set at one share of the underlying asset. This development is significant for the RWA market as it expands the utility of tokenized assets beyond spot trading into derivatives, potentially attracting a broader range of investors seeking exposure to traditional equities through a blockchain-native framework and enhancing liquidity and accessibility for these assets.
