Tokenized stocks from Robinhood, Binance, and Coinbase attract $130.5M in DeFi deposits

As of November 3, 2026, users have deposited $130.5 million in tokenized stocks into DeFi protocols, signaling a shift toward active utility for these assets. Robinhood leads the market with $69.0 million in deposits, followed by Binance at $36.5 million and Coinbase at $24.9 million. These figures represent a portion of the $3.2 billion in total on-chain tokenized equity value recorded by late October 2026. The rapid adoption is driven by the integration of these tokens into lending markets and decentralized exchange liquidity pools, allowing users to earn yield or borrow against their holdings. Robinhood’s success is attributed to its vertical integration, having launched a dedicated Layer-2 chain specifically for its stock tokens in July 2026. While these products offer 24/7 access to US equity price exposure for international users, they generally do not confer direct shareholder rights. This trend highlights the growing role of tokenized equities as functional financial building blocks rather than passive digital assets. The market remains in an early stage, with significant potential for further migration of the remaining $3 billion in tokenized equity supply into DeFi ecosystems.

Ripple and Robinhood Link Tokenization to Settlement and Treasury

Ripple and Robinhood announced a strategic partnership on October 27, 2024, focusing on the integration of Ripple USD (RLUSD) for institutional settlement and treasury services. During the Ripple Swell event in New York, Ripple President Monica Long and Robinhood Crypto GM Johann Kerbrat emphasized that the collaboration prioritizes utility over mere asset issuance. While Robinhood has previously explored tokenized stock products, these remain restricted in the United States due to regulatory hurdles, including non-compliance with recent SEC conditional relief requirements. The agreement integrates RLUSD on the Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, while leveraging the XRP Ledger for institutional-grade settlement. Both companies aim to move beyond simple tokenization to address practical financial infrastructure needs like 24/7 asset movement and fractionalization. This partnership highlights the industry's shift toward using stablecoins as a foundational layer for broader financial services. By focusing on treasury management and settlement, the firms are building the necessary plumbing for future tokenized equities and real estate markets.

Robinhood Chain adds eight tokenized stocks and ETFs

Robinhood Chain has expanded its ecosystem by adding eight new tokenized stocks and ETFs, including major entities like JPMorgan Chase, Visa, and Disney. This development, announced on October 28, 2026, brings the total value of tokenized real-world assets on the network to over $319 million. A significant 77% of these assets are currently utilized within decentralized finance applications, such as lending markets and liquidity pools. The expansion is bolstered by strategic integrations with Ondo Finance and Uniswap, which provide new liquidity options and trading venues for these tokenized securities. By leveraging Arbitrum technology on its Ethereum Layer 2 network, Robinhood aims to facilitate 24/7 trading access to traditional financial exposures. These tokenized debt securities provide economic exposure to underlying assets, though they do not grant direct legal ownership to holders. The growth of this ecosystem highlights a broader industry trend where tokenized assets are increasingly integrated into complex DeFi protocols rather than remaining static digital representations. Ultimately, the success of this initiative will depend on sustained liquidity depth and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
