Solana Labs’ Leap Launches Mobile App for Trading Tokenized Stocks and Crypto
Solana Labs has launched Leap, a new mobile trading application designed to facilitate the trading of tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals, currencies, and cryptocurrencies on the Solana blockchain. Developed by the team behind the acquired protocol Dialect, the app aims to provide a more stable alternative to the network's volatile meme coin market by offering long-term investment tools and curated market news. The platform utilizes Solana's high-speed infrastructure, including the Alpenglow consensus update, to execute trades in approximately 150 milliseconds. By leveraging Jupiter for trade routing and Helius for infrastructure, Leap enables users to execute trades as onchain swaps. The app is currently available via Apple's TestFlight program, with an Android version expected to follow, though it remains restricted in regions like the U.K. Leap plans to implement a fee structure that includes a token burn mechanism for SOL and a referral program for early users. This launch represents a broader industry shift toward bringing traditional financial assets onchain, following similar initiatives by firms like Securitize on the Solana network. The development highlights the increasing competition to provide accessible, 24/7 trading interfaces for tokenized real-world assets.
