StanChart’s Libeara buys Zodia Markets Jersey to enable intraday tokenized fund dealing
Libeara, a fund tokenization platform incubated by Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures, has announced the acquisition of Zodia Markets (Jersey) to enhance its operational capabilities. This strategic move provides Libeara with a Jersey-based investment dealing license and status as a Virtual Asset Service Provider, which are essential for streamlining fund operations. By integrating this regulated entity, Libeara aims to facilitate intraday liquidity for tokenized funds, allowing investors to enter or exit positions outside of traditional subscription and redemption windows. The platform currently manages over $810 million in assets, with the majority comprised of ChinaAMC’s tokenized fund classes and the Bosera Liquidity Income Fund. Furthermore, the acquisition enables Libeara to directly manage stablecoin on-ramping and off-ramping for fund transactions, reducing reliance on third-party partners. This development marks a significant step in maturing the infrastructure for tokenized investment products by bridging the gap between traditional regulatory compliance and blockchain-based efficiency. The transaction remains subject to pending regulatory approval.
