DeFi & L1L2 — 🚀 Crypto.com launched Tokenized Stocks; Toyota Finance launched a ¥1 billion tokenized bond

Crypto.com has officially launched a new offering for tokenized stocks, marking a significant expansion of its platform's asset capabilities. Simultaneously, Toyota Finance has entered the RWA space by issuing a ¥1 billion tokenized bond, highlighting the growing institutional interest in blockchain-based debt instruments. These developments occur against a backdrop of broader market growth, with total cryptocurrency ownership reaching 774 million users, a 4.5% increase in the first half of 2026. Market data indicates a positive trend, with market capitalization rising by 6.95% and trading volume increasing by 0.41% over the reporting period. The integration of traditional financial assets like stocks and bonds onto blockchain rails signals a maturing ecosystem where institutional players are increasingly leveraging distributed ledger technology for capital formation. While Harmony faces operational challenges following a network exploit, the overall RWA sector continues to gain momentum through these diverse product launches. These milestones underscore the ongoing convergence between traditional finance and decentralized infrastructure, providing investors with new avenues for asset exposure.

Crypto.com Launches the Future of Trading With Tokenized Stocks

Crypto.com has officially launched Tokenized Stocks, enabling users to gain exposure to 1,500 U.S. equities and ETFs directly through its mobile application. This new product allows for fractional investments starting at just US$1, providing 24/7 trading capabilities that bypass traditional market hours. The tokens function as derivative financial instruments that track the price performance of underlying assets like NVDA, TSLA, and AAPL, as well as commodity ETFs such as GLD and SLV. While these tokens do not grant legal ownership or shareholder rights, they offer dividend equivalent adjustments to eligible holders. The underlying assets are held in custody by Alpaca, a U.S. regulated broker-dealer that currently supports over 90% of the tokenized U.S. stock market. This launch represents a significant step in bridging traditional equity markets with blockchain-based infrastructure to enhance liquidity and accessibility. By offering instant access and fast settlement, Crypto.com aims to modernize the investment experience for users across the EEA and other approved global jurisdictions.

Crypto.com rolls out tokenized stock derivatives as crypto exchanges push into equities

Crypto.com has launched tokenized derivatives tracking 1,500 U.S. equities and ETFs, allowing eligible users in the European Economic Area to gain synthetic exposure to assets like Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla. These products, issued by Foris Capital CY Limited, enable 24/7 trading with positions starting at $1, though they do not grant legal ownership or voting rights associated with traditional shares. The underlying assets are held by U.S. broker-dealer Alpaca, leveraging the MiFID license Crypto.com acquired through its May 2025 purchase of Foris Capital. This expansion reflects a broader trend among major crypto exchanges to bridge the gap between digital assets and traditional financial markets. With the tokenized stock market reaching $2.49 billion in value—a 600% increase over the past year—the sector is rapidly evolving toward the $2.6 trillion valuation projected by Citi for 2030. The move highlights the growing competition between synthetic derivative models and issuer-sponsored onchain shares. As infrastructure providers like the DTCC and major exchanges explore tokenization, the industry faces ongoing regulatory scrutiny regarding market integrity and the distinction between synthetic tracking and direct asset ownership.
