Franklin Templeton Innovates with Tokenized Asset Vaults

Franklin Templeton is expanding its digital asset footprint by introducing innovative vaults specifically designed to enhance the efficiency and risk presentation of structured products. By leveraging blockchain technology, these vaults aim to make complex financial instruments more accessible to retail investors, marking a strategic shift in how traditional investment firms approach digital asset integration. This development builds upon the firm's established success with its tokenized U.S. Treasury money market fund, which has reached an $87 million market cap. The initiative is supported by a collaboration with Pendle Finance, signaling a move toward integrating decentralized finance protocols with institutional-grade financial structures. As the firm continues to navigate SEC-approved frameworks for tokenized funds, this move highlights a broader industry trend of bridging traditional finance with on-chain liquidity. The introduction of these vaults serves as a potential catalyst for increased institutional and retail participation in the tokenized asset sector. Ultimately, this evolution reflects a growing institutional commitment to modernizing financial infrastructure through programmable, transparent digital asset solutions.

Stellar Holds $3.5B in Tokenized Assets, but XRP Is Still Worth 13 Times More

Stellar has established itself as a significant hub for real-world asset tokenization, reporting approximately $3.5 billion to $4 billion in total holdings as of late 2024. Key institutional drivers include Franklin Templeton’s BENJI fund, which accounts for over $600 million, and Spiko’s money-market products contributing roughly $1.7 billion. Despite this substantial utility, Stellar’s native token XLM maintains a market capitalization of approximately $6.67 billion, significantly trailing XRP’s $84.65 billion valuation. This discrepancy highlights a fundamental market trend where the growth of tokenized assets on a blockchain does not necessarily translate into proportional demand for the network's native cryptocurrency. While institutional investors utilize these chains for issuance, ownership records, and settlement, their capital is primarily directed toward the underlying assets like government securities rather than the native tokens. Conversely, XRP’s higher valuation is driven by distinct investment vehicles, such as spot ETFs and corporate treasury structures, which provide direct exposure to the asset itself. This analysis underscores the decoupling between blockchain infrastructure utility and speculative market pricing in the evolving RWA sector.

Franklin Templeton’s tokenized high yield bond ETF lands on Pendle as FLHYon

Ondo Finance has expanded the utility of its tokenized Franklin Templeton high-yield corporate bond ETF, FLHYon, by launching a dedicated market on the yield-trading protocol Pendle. This integration allows investors to trade the future income streams of the tokenized junk bond fund with a fixed maturity date set for 2026. FLHYon, which operates on the Ethereum blockchain, provides economic exposure to the underlying Franklin Templeton ETF through an offshore structure managed by Ondo Global Markets. As of October 2026, the tokenized asset reached a circulating supply of approximately 20,558 units with an on-chain value of roughly $497,000. The expansion follows a broader strategic partnership between Franklin Templeton and Ondo, which aims to bring five different ETFs onto the blockchain. Beyond Pendle, the token has also gained utility as collateral on the lending platform Morpho, supported by Chainlink price oracles. While this development enhances the financial engineering possibilities for RWA holders, the market remains relatively small and carries inherent risks including credit exposure, oracle reliance, and smart contract vulnerabilities. This move signifies a growing trend of layering decentralized finance protocols on top of institutional-grade tokenized securities to increase capital efficiency.
