About the Team

The Compliance Department at OKX is responsible for promoting a strong compliance culture and supporting the business in meeting its regulatory obligations and managing enterprise risk.

The Marketing Compliance function develops and applies standards for marketing and external communications across the markets in which OKX operates. Its remit covers advertising, promotions, social media, influencers and affiliates activity, and product launch communications for CeFi and DeFi offerings, from campaign planning through approval and post-campaign review. We work with Marketing, Product, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to assess regulatory requirements, put practical risk-based controls in place, and support timely and compliant go-to-market execution.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a strong leader to join our compliance team and continue building out our marketing compliance function. This role will involve building a marketing control framework supported by policies and procedures, developing review and approval processes, and working closely with Product, Marketing, and Legal teams to ensure marketing communications and initiatives comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in marketing lifecycle governance, from ideation through execution and post-campaign review and ongoing monitoring. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking compliance leader who can balance regulatory rigor with business enablement in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead a marketing compliance function and scale up the team.
• Design and implement a scalable global compliance framework supported by policies and procedures governing marketing and external communications, including advertising, promotions, social media, and product launch communications.
• Develop and maintain marketing compliance policies and procedures tailored to the unique risks associated with both CeFi and DeFi offerings.
• Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to define and operationalize a review and approval process for marketing and product communications, ensuring timely and compliant go-to-market execution.
• Establish a robust and effective ongoing post-publication monitoring program to ensure that post-campaign marketing materials (including social media and engagement with influencers/KOLs and affiliates) and lookbacks adhere to global and local marketing standards.
• Leverage AI-enabled technological solutions to develop a holistic global marketing compliance controls framework that can scale appropriately with the business’ growth.
• Track, report, and remediate incidents or issues arising from marketing activities.
• Monitor global regulatory developments relevant to crypto marketing and advertising. Proactively assess and implement required changes to the marketing compliance program based on regulatory updates.
• Partner with Product, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance and Marketing teams to ensure all product launch communications and campaigns are fully compliant with global regulations and company policies.
• Support the business in making decisions while considering regulatory risks and compliance obligations.
• Develop materials to improve understanding of compliance and regulatory risks across teams and deliver regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

What We Look For In You

• Ability to multi-task and work in a high-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of marketing regulations and standards across key jurisdictions (e.g., US, UK, EU, APAC).
• Experience in crypto, blockchain, or digital assets, with strong familiarity with both CeFi and DeFi ecosystems.
• Proven ability to design and implement compliance frameworks and controls from scratch.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills across global and cross-functional teams.
• Experience engaging with regulatory bodies or supporting regulatory audits or exams.
• Prior experience in a high-growth tech or startup environment.

What Does Strategy (MSTR) 24 7 Tokenized Stock Trading Mean For Investors?

MicroStrategy (MSTR) has become one of the first equities available for 24/7 trading through a new tokenized platform launched by OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange. This initiative leverages an SEC exemption to enable onchain trading of tokenized shares that grant holders direct shareholder rights, including dividends and voting capabilities. By integrating traditional equity structures with blockchain accessibility, the venture aims to bridge the gap between conventional capital markets and digital asset infrastructure. The move is particularly significant for MicroStrategy, a company already deeply embedded in the digital asset space through its extensive Bitcoin treasury operations. While the platform offers continuous liquidity, the success of this model depends on how trading volumes migrate from traditional venues to the OKX-ICE ecosystem. Investors are now monitoring how this onchain accessibility impacts the firm's capital allocation strategies and overall share liquidity. This development represents a broader trend of institutional-grade infrastructure being applied to traditional equities to facilitate round-the-clock market participation.

StanChart, Circle, Ripple back crypto exchange OKX at unchanged $25bn valuation

Crypto exchange OKX has secured strategic investments from Circle, Ripple, QRT, and SC Ventures at a $25 billion pre-money valuation to accelerate its expansion into real-world asset tokenization. This funding round, which extends a previous investment led by Intercontinental Exchange, aims to provide the capital necessary for OKX to scale its tokenized product offerings. The exchange has already integrated significant RWA features, including the listing of over 40 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for non-U.S. and non-European clients. Furthermore, OKX recently announced the launch of a tokenized securities venue utilizing SEC exemptions to facilitate regulated trading. By leveraging partnerships with major financial players like Standard Chartered and Circle, OKX is positioning itself as a bridge between traditional finance and blockchain-based markets. The inclusion of Ripple and its RLUSD stablecoin further signals a strategic focus on cross-border liquidity and asset settlement. This development highlights a broader industry trend where centralized exchanges are aggressively pivoting toward institutional-grade RWA infrastructure to diversify revenue streams beyond volatile crypto assets.

The Coming Wave of Tokenized Stocks in U.S. Markets

Tokenized stock trading is emerging as a transformative force in U.S. equity markets, promising to bridge the gap between traditional finance and blockchain technology. Platforms like OKX are exploring pathways to offer tokenized equities by leveraging SEC exemption frameworks such as Regulation A+ and Regulation D. This approach aims to bypass burdensome full registration processes while maintaining the strict compliance standards required by the SEC. The integration of these assets could enable 24/7 trading and automated asset management, reflecting a broader market appetite validated by institutional interest from firms like BlackRock. However, significant challenges remain regarding custody, the management of corporate actions like dividends, and the need for robust regulatory alignment. Startups must navigate a competitive landscape against legacy exchanges while ensuring their technological infrastructure meets stringent oversight requirements. Success in this sector depends on the ability to harmonize decentralized finance liquidity with traditional regulatory mandates. Ultimately, the evolution of tokenized stocks represents a potential seismic shift in how investors access and manage equity portfolios within an integrated financial ecosystem.
