About the department
Complex Securities Legal provides expertise in derivatives, repos, MSFTA products and other complex securities, their related market infrastructure, documentation and regulation. We support trading and portfolio management as well as client facing teams, operations, risk and compliance. The team covers Franklin Templeton group globally and is headed in London.
How will you add value
- Support business and other stakeholders in respect of complex securities to help grow our business safely and efficiently, including for example: investment group integration, derivatives on digital assets, tokenised collateral, prime brokerage and Sharia compliant financial products.
- Work with teammates to manage and resolve issues arising in respect of Franklin Templeton’s funds and other clients such as restructurings, client special requests and new products.
- Draft and advise in respect of trading documentation, including providing input on negotiations with top-tier dealers in respect of our wide array of client types globally.
- Support in respect of regulatory developments and changes in market infrastructure which will impact our business. Some involvement in industry associations.
What will help you be successful in this role
- Commercially minded, pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach, able to interact with business, operations and other stakeholders.
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales.
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience, at a high-tier global law firm and/or asset manager.
- Good technical knowledge in some derivatives products (cleared and/or uncleared), their documentation and negotiation. Knowledge in the other products listed above greatly welcomed.
- Some experience in the related UK and EU regulatory frameworks greatly welcomed.
