Binance has expanded its bStocks tokenized equity program by adding GameStop (GMEB) as a tradable asset on August 12, 2026. These tokens are issued by BTech Holdings Limited under the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) regulatory framework and operate on the BNB Smart Chain. Each token is backed one-to-one by actual U.S. equities held by a regulated custodian, distinguishing the product from synthetic alternatives. The platform's bStocks program, which launched in June 2026, reached over $500 million in assets under management within seven weeks. This growth highlights increasing institutional and retail interest in 24/7 tokenized equity trading and the use of tokenized stocks as margin collateral. By leveraging the ADGM framework, Binance aims to avoid the regulatory pitfalls that led to the closure of its previous tokenized stock offering in 2021. The expansion to over 46 listings, including major names like NVIDIA and Tesla, signals a maturing market for regulated, blockchain-based securities. However, access remains restricted to eligible jurisdictions to comply with diverse international securities laws.
Tokenized stocks are digital representations of traditional equity shares recorded on a blockchain. They allow investors to gain exposure to underlying assets while benefiting from the 24/7 liquidity and programmability of distributed ledger technology. These products typically require a regulated custodian to hold the physical shares to ensure the tokens remain fully collateralized.
