Securitize partners with LG CNS to advance tokenized assets in South Korea

RWA Signal Insight
InfrastructureLG CNS has launched its KITL blockchain platform, designed to provide infrastructure for stablecoins, tokenized securities, and real-world assets for South Korean financial institutions. To bolster this offering, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Securitize to co-develop solutions specifically for tokenizing funds and bonds. This strategic move is timed to align with South Korea's anticipated regulatory framework for tokenized securities, which is expected to take effect in February 2027. By providing a consolidated system, LG CNS aims to help banks, securities firms, and payment providers reduce operational costs and accelerate their digital asset deployment. The platform's technology was previously validated through the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang, which involved seven banks and 80,000 customers. While no live tokenized products have been issued yet, the partnership positions both firms to capture market share as the regulatory environment matures. This development is significant for the RWA market as it demonstrates how major IT service providers are building the necessary plumbing to facilitate institutional adoption of tokenized assets in a major Asian economy.
