Plume Network general counsel outlines tokenization's benefits in Bitcoin Suisse wealth report

Plume Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 platform, has reached a milestone of over 220 active tokenization projects with a combined asset value exceeding $350 million. General Counsel B. Salman Banaei highlighted four core advantages of tokenization in a September 2026 report by Bitcoin Suisse, specifically citing improved settlement efficiency, fractional ownership, enhanced transparency, and reduced counterparty risk. Banaei, who testified before the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, advocates for applying existing economic risk frameworks to tokenized securities rather than creating redundant regulations. He emphasized that the U.S. risks losing its competitive edge to jurisdictions like Switzerland and Singapore, which have fostered more favorable environments for digital asset innovation. Plume Network currently supports approximately 260,000 wallets, focusing on collateral such as private credit, real estate, and trade finance. By embedding compliance and jurisdictional rules directly into smart contracts, the platform aims to streamline institutional asset management. This development underscores the growing institutional focus on using blockchain infrastructure to modernize debt and fixed-income markets.
