Hashkey joins DTCC working group as first Asian crypto service provider

HashKey has become the first Asian digital asset service provider to join the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group. This collaboration integrates HashKey into a coalition of over 100 global financial institutions, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq, and the New York Stock Exchange. The working group aims to establish standardized frameworks for the issuance, settlement, and safeguarding of tokenized assets at an institutional scale. By bridging traditional finance with decentralized infrastructure, the initiative seeks to modernize post-trade processes for the $114 trillion in assets currently under DTCC custody. This move follows a December SEC “no action” letter that cleared the way for a DTCC subsidiary to launch a securities market tokenization service. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has signaled support for innovation exemptions to facilitate the transition of markets on-chain. The DTCC plans to launch access to tokenized securities in October, marking a significant step toward global institutional adoption of blockchain-based financial infrastructure.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) serves as the primary post-trade infrastructure provider for the U.S. financial markets, handling the clearing and settlement of the vast majority of securities transactions. Its Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group was established to create a collaborative environment where traditional financial entities and blockchain innovators can define standards for the future of tokenized securities.
